The Together We Can Do It campaign began in the spring of 2011 as an effort to educate all Charbonneau residents about the importance of a viable golf course to all who live in Charbonneau.
This campaign was organized and conducted entirely by volunteers from our community, golfers and non-golfers alike. The campaign also invited residents to voluntarily contribute towards meeting the present shortfall in revenues from our golf course business in order to stop the reductions in care for our open space we have been forced to implement over the past 5 years. This is a critical bridging need so we can continue to provide a competitive facility to those who pay to play here, which is the primary and growing source of our revenue.
During the calendar year 2011, over $120,000 was raised with participation from over 500 separate residences in Charbonneau and over 850 individual participants.
Funds raised in 2011 have been used for the improvement of the care of our fairways in order to provide better drainage, regular fertilizer applications and removal of tree stumps left from storm or disease damage. In addition, several critical pieces of course care equipment were purchased, and a fund to repair our paths has been established.
Further details regarding the use of funds offered by our community can be found in the Use of Funds section of this website.
Thanks to all who took part in meeting this critical need in 2011.
