Murman Lang Vedder
Nov. 22, 1929 – March 12, 2021
“Murm” was born in Owasso, Mich, but grew up in California….his early years in Southern California and his young adulthood in the San Francisco Bay Area. Upon graduating from Burlingame High School, he attended UC Berkeley with a small scholarship, obtaining his Business Administration degree. He then volunteered for the Army and served until 1955.
In July 1960, he married Joan Margaret Stuart and together they raised seven children over a 30 year period, including a few ‘home sites’ and advancing his career in the Bay Area. Murm officially ‘retired’ in 1992 and he and Joan moved to Oregon. Within one year, he returned to what he loved………work………on a temporary basis, for 28 more years! He played tennis until his mid-80’s but eventually lost his vigor to his sons who ‘served too fast !’
Murm leaves behind his wife of nearly 61 years, Joan; and five sons and two daughters. Also, left to grieve are 11 grandchildren and six precious great-grandchildren. Murm always said his ‘wealth’ was having a large family; thus he died a very rich man indeed.
