The ability to walk the Red Course cart paths has been welcomed by hundreds of our residents. People are most pleased to have this alternate activity while the exercise facility has been shut down under Covid-19 restrictions.
There have been some problems in that some residents are walking on the Green or Yellow course cart paths. Those course paths are not open to walkers.
It is dangerous to even use those paths to get to the Red Course. One woman walked forty yards in front of public golfers teeing off, the golfers did not see her until a ball going close to 150 miles per hour went barely above her head. It easily could have killed her. Those golfers said they will not come back to Charbonneau.
If you don’t have direct access to the many points of entry to the Red Course paths, it is best to drive to the Clubhouse parking area, park and proceed to walk from there. Stay safe!
The Golf Course Board wants to thank the probably 95% of walkers that follow the safety requests. Therefore the GC Board is extending the “December” walk through the end of February with the same requests:
Walking ONLY…and ONLY on the Cart Paths on the RED Course. Handicap mobility support is allowed.
Walk either direction
Dogs on leashes and pick up any waste as needed!!
Enter anywhere on Red, but do not walk across Green or Yellow to get to Red
Yield to maintenance equipment and/or workers
Walkers assume ALL liability (although the course will be closed to golfers)…could be random balls from other fairways
No need to register…just enjoy
Note that if residents continue to walk on the two restricted course, this opportunity will likely be withdrawn. The Red Course is scheduled to reopen to golfers in early March. At that time all courses will be closed to non-golfers.
A map of the three courses is posted here again for your reference.
