CHARBONNEAU FESTIVAL OF THE ARTS
To Go Online for 2020

(Wilsonville, Oregon, May 29, 2020).Organizers of the Charbonneau Festival of the Arts (CFA), announces “Art with Flair – The Virtual Exhibition.” For the entire month of October, the virtual show will present a gallery art show featuring all major art media formats with artist, artisan, and musician portfolios and profiles, routing to their websites and social media for purchase. Plans are also underway to showcase local student art works and special projects. In addition, the fund-raising silent auction will go virtual as well, beginning in October.

The festival, in its 38th year, was originally scheduled for October 23-25 at the Charbonneau Country Club in Wilsonville, Oregon. The organizing committee was considering various alternatives for managing the festival in the event of continuing social distancing. Recognizing that Phase II decisions regarding large festivals won’t be announced until September, it became clear that the group of volunteers planning the festival needed to focus on one event, rather than two “what-ifs.” With festivals and events going online all over the country, CFA decided to follow that trend and create “Art with Flair–The Virtual Exhibition.”  There will be a special focus on maintaining the fundraising goals of the event, with the Silent Auction taking center stage to raise funds in support of arts education for students in Wilsonville and Canby. Artists and Artisans will be invited to participate as usual, but with the ability to showcase their art in the online gallery and to link to their own websites through the entire month of October.

The Call to Artists will be released the week of June, 15, 2020.
