Charbonneau Community,
Each day we are adapting in regards to COVID19. Yesterday, the Oregon Governor asked for restaurants and bars to close. Since the clubhouse acts as a social gathering place and is nearly empty with most activities cancelled, we have decided for the safety of the community and staff to close the clubhouse and fitness center effective tomorrow, March 18, until at least April 16.
The Board and staff will continue to run the Charbonneau business and will be conducting our work remotely. Staff has laid out an internal plan and identified all of the core duties to continue operations. Staff and the Board will be available by phone and email to our residents.
I really liked this short reminder from the Oregon Health Authority as we navigate this situation:
“Practice Compassion
Closing schools, canceling highly anticipated events, and disrupting our daily routines by staying home and away from others causes stress for all of us. This is hard and important work. Take a deep breath. Remember, we are doing this to protect each other, the people we love, and the communities we call home.”
Thank you,
Jim Meierotto
