CHARBONNEAU COMMUNITY FORUM: “OREGON WINES: IT’S THE GEOLOGY!”
With Dr. Scott Burns
Scott Burns is well-known as the leading expert on regional geology, especially the Missoula Floods and prospects for a major Cascadia earthquake. Little known fact: Scott is also an expert on what makes PNW wines unique, so he will be making a presentation on the terroir of Oregon wines.
Scott has been studying the soils of wine in Oregon for 27 years and was the one who discovered the secret of the three main types in the Willamette Valley, which give their unique taste.
Bring a bottle of Oregon or Washington wine, preferably estate bottled, and wine glasses for tasting. Scott will help you understand the unique terroir of your wine.
Social time starts at 6:00 p.m. in the Country Club dining room. Join us for a glass of house wine, beverages and snacks. Dr. Burn’s talk will begin at 6:30. There will be open discussion of your wines starting at about 7:30.
