Save 10% on Spring and Summer Parks and Recreation Program Registration
Registration opens on April 16th for Spring and Summer Parks and Recreation classes. Participants who enroll by May 1st will receive 10% off program tuition costs. There are a variety of program offerings ranging from fitness to arts and from daytime to evening classes. Do you have grandkids coming to visit this summer? Alzheimer’s Education – Legal and Financial
The diagnosis of Alzheimer’s makes planning for the future more important than ever. In this class you will learn about important legal and financial issues, how to put plans in place, and how to access legal and financial resources.
The Alzheimer’s Association is pleased to present an ongoing series of free educational classes at the Wilsonville Parks & Recreation Administrative Offices, 29600 Park Place Court. Sessions run from 10:00 – 11:30 am. Space is limited. Please call the Alzheimer’s Association at 1-800-272-3900 to register or for additional details.
Community Garden Sign Up
The Wilsonville Community Garden opens for registration on Thursday, April 5th. Gardeners are asked to come to the Parks and Recreation Admin Office to register and pick their garden plot. Registration opens at 8:00 am. In-ground plots are $22 for the season. Raised beds are $25 for the season. Program Highlight: SMART Transit 101
Join RideWise, your local travel training program, for a two-class session to learn more about using public transit in Wilsonville and beyond. In the first class on April 13th (10:15 – 11:45 am), the class will cover information on fares, trip planning, accessibility and more. During the second class on April 20th (10:00 – 11:45 am), knowledge will be put to the test as participants head out to ride SMART to SMART Central/WES Station. Class will meet at the Community Center and there is no charge.
Program Highlight: AARP Smart Driver
This 6-hour course is split into two sessions and will provide you with a comprehensive review of safe driving techniques. Insurance companies often provide discounts to those who complete this course. Class takes place on Fridays, April 6 and April 13 from 9 am to noon at the Community Center. There is a $5 registration fee plus a class fee ($15 AARP members, $20 Non-members) due on 1st day of class.
Park Rental Season Now Open
Wilsonville Parks and Recreation offers a number of park rental options including the River Shelter, the Forest Shelter, Grove Shelter, Splash Shelter and sport fields in Memorial Park.
