This month’s film concerns a single man raising a child prodigy – his spirited young niece in a coastal town in Florida. His plans for a normal school life for his niece are foiled when the 7-year-old’s mathematical abilities come to the attention of others. Come and join us for snacks and hard plastic chairs. Book Notes Concert: The Whiskey Darlings

The Book Club meets monthly for informal discussion in the library. Join fellow readers for lively and thought-provoking conversation about excellent books. This month: “The Dovekeepers” by Alice Hoffman. In 70 CE, nine hundred Jews held out for months against armies of Romans on a mountain in the Judean, desert, Masada. Only two women and five children survived. History Pub @ Wilsonville McMenamins

The Wilsonville Public Library Foundation, the Wilsonville/Boones Ferry Historical Society, and McMenamins have teamed up to present monthly programs focusing on Oregon’s rich history. This month: Catch a Thief: International Art Theft and the FBI. Lynne McKee spent eight years at FBI Headquarters in Washington, D.C. as their Art Theft Program Manager, coordinating investigations that resulted in the recovery of more than $300 million in cultural property. She was also co-founder of the FBI’s Rapid Deployment Art Crime Team. Please join us as Lynne McKee shares the real story of illicit trafficking in art and antiquities through actual FBI cases and undercover operations. Free, at the McMenamins’ Old Church
