It’s time for our January luncheon on Monday, January 14th at 11:30am at the Charbonneau Country Club.
Back by popular demand, Lynne McKee will be featured, speaking to us about“Cowgirls and Ranch Women: Pioneers Pushing Gender Boundaries.” Lynne spoke at a previous CWA luncheon on the topic of stolen art and her work with the FBI’s Art Crime Team. This time she will be sharing stories about Cowgirls who appeared on the American frontier in the mid-1800s. During a time when women were expected to act ladylike, sew, serve tea in the parlor, and care for their husbands and families, cowgirls lived on the fringes of society, working stock alongside the cowboys, competing in rodeo and were determined and spirited pioneers.
The menu and decor will celebrate the Cowgirl in us all: Stew in a bread bowl, salad, and apple crisp. Our caterer will be It’s Partytime Caterers.
All are encouraged to wear cowgirl or western attire.
