The “Fall in Charbonneau” contest has a clear winner. Congratulations to Joe and Sandy Hoffman of Arbor Lake. They correctly answered three of the four questions.
Joe and Sandy are native Oregonians and have been married 52 years, living in the Portland area all of their lives. Aside from their years in Portland, they lived in Milwaukie 5 years, Beaverton 30 years, and Charbonneau, which is their favorite stop; since 2002.
Joe worked for Graphic Arts Center in Portland for 30 years, and retired from Oregon Catholic Press in 2006. Sandy worked at Bob’s Red Mill for 21 years and retired from there in 2011. Together they are Ambassadors for the Mill, and carry sample products in their motor home to share with other RV’ers when they travel.
During their working years, their favorite vacation was cruising so after retiring they decided to try RVing, immediately falling in love with the lifestyle, and now find themselves on the road more than at home.
With two grown children, three grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren, all living nearby, their family life is filled and they enjoy all the family get-togethers.
After their return from Indio in April, Joe is looking forward to spring and summer on the Charbonneau courses having joined the Men’s Club last year. They also find time to do volunteer work with the C.C. Stern Type Foundry and Museum in Portland.
