Only a Few Days Left to Complete Wilsonville Parks & Recreation Master Plan Survey
WILSONVILLE, OR — Friday, June 30, is the last day to offer public comment on an online needs assessment survey at
for the Wilsonville Parks and Recreation Department. The survey that has been open since early June provides community members an opportunity to share feedback and help shape the City’s Parks & Recreation Master Plan now being developed. The overall purpose of the plan is to serve as a long-range guide for the City’s future investments in recreational programs, services and parks facilities in Wilsonville.
In May the department also mailed written questionnaires to a random sample of 3,500 households in Wilsonville and these written surveys must also be completed and returned by the end of June to be included in the results.
The survey asks a variety of questions to assess local preferences for the types of parks, facilities, recreation programs and services desired by local residents. The results of the survey are to be used to provide critical information in determining community values, satisfaction levels, needs and priorities for the City’s long-term planning efforts to be included in the Parks and Recreation Master Plan.
To help develop the plan the City hired GreenPlay, LLC, a national firm based in Colorado with extensive experience across the U.S. facilitating, researching and developing similar parks and recreation master plans. The firm is working with RRC Associates to complete the surveys.
The 12-month planning process seeks to compare current parks and recreation facilities, programs and services with the community’s future needs and desires. The plan seeks to recommend potential changes and/or enhancements to parks facilities and recreational programs for City Council consideration early next year.
