Spring and Summer Parks and Recreation Program Registration Now Open

Registration is now open for all spring and summer Parks and Recreation programs. This summer there are a number of revamped program offerings including a new daytime offering of Pilates and the introduction of a brand new program, SMART Transit 101.All programs can be viewed and registered for online at WilsonvilleParksandRec.com.

SMART Transit 101 

Join RideWise, your local travel training program, for a two class session at the Community Center and learn more about using public transit in Wilsonville and beyond.  In the first class, information on fares, trip planning, and accessibility will be covered.  During the second class, knowledge will be put to the test as participants head out to ride SMART to SMART Central/WES Station.Fridays 5/19,12:45 pm – 2:15 pm and 5/26, 12:25 pm – 2:15 pm (must attend both sessions).There is no charge but please call 503-682-3727 to register.

Brain Health

The lobby at the Community Center has been stocked with brain healthy games, activities and books to encourage visitors to linger longer and try their hand at some brain teasers or spend some time coloring.  Next time you are at the Community Center be sure to check it out!

Bereavement Group

“Anything that’s human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable.” Fred Rogers

This group is appropriate for people who are in the process of losing or have recently lost a loved one, as well as for people who have been struggling with their loss for many years.  Counselor and Care Manager Scott Lichtenstein will lead this brand new group through The Grief Recovery Handbook, 20th Anniversary, Expanded Edition to provide an educational framework to live through grief together.  The group offers a private, safe, and caring environment to share your feelings, receive understanding, and learn to navigate through your personal grief by drawing upon the strength of the group.

The group will meet the first Friday of the month from 10-11 am at the Community Center.  Please call Sadie Wallenberg at 503-570-1526 to register or for more information.
