Hey Wilsonville: February is once again Food for Fines month at the library! Each can or jar (not expired, please!) of food you bring in gets you $1.00 off overdue fines all February long. Please no ramen!

Book Club

Thursday, February 2nd at 6:00 PM

This month, our Book Club will read ‘At the Water’s Edge’, by Sara Gruen, a novel which charts the story of young Maddie’s social awakening, along with a special guest star: The Loch Ness Monster!  Join fellow readers for lively and thought-provoking conversation about excellent books monthly. Upcoming books to be discussed are available for early check out – just ask at the Circulation Desk.

First Friday Film

Friday, February 3rd at 6:00 PM

February’s film still isn’t decided—but it’s sure to be a good one! Watch the latest releases for free on our big screen the first Friday of the each month. The films chosen are new, interesting, and difficult to get via Netflix. Snacks are available by donation, or bring your own. For film titles, visit the First Friday Films page or call the library.

Game Days

Sundays, February 5th, 12th, 19th, and 26th at 1:00 PM

Play one of our slew of board games, or bring your own! Meet fellow gamers and have fun at this informal event. Open to all ages. Children welcome with a parent or caregiver.

Book Notes Concert: Jason Okamoto

Saturday, February 11th at 2:00 PM

Jason Okamoto plays solo acoustic guitar with a repertoire of Spanish, Brazilian Bossa Nova, and other Latin American guitar styles. Come enjoy the sound of music in the library. The Wilsonville Public Library is pleased to present musical performances by local musicians. Check out our website for the full series. This concert series is presented by the Wilsonville Friends of the Library.

Curiosity Cafe: Ukulele 101

Have a cup of coffee and enjoy monthly talks and workshops on a variety of topics to expand your world. Third Saturday of the month. Saturday, February 18, 2017: Ukulele 101 with Aaron Canwell. Come learn to play this fun and simple instrument! Ukuleles are thankfully provided.

Library Birthday & Heart Healthy Fair

Come celebrate the Library’s birthday with fun activities for the whole family! Try some family exercises, find your inner drummer with a taiko performance, and more. Visit the Vendor Room to discover local organizations and companies who want to help you get heart healthy. Swing by and get your heart pumping at this free community event!

History Pub @ Wilsonville McMenamins

Tuesday, February 28th at 6:30 PM at Wilsonville McMenamins’ Old Church

The Wilsonville Public Library Foundation, the Wilsonville/Boones Ferry Historical Society, and McMenamins have teamed up to present monthly programs focusing on Oregon’s rich history. This month: ‘Following Amelia: The Legacy of Oregon’s 99s’. Oregon women have been taking to the skies since the early days of aviation. In 1929, twenty women entered the first women’s cross-country air race, including Oregonian Edith Foltz and Amelia Earhart. Later that year, 99 of the 117 women pilots at the time formed “The Ninety-Nines,” for mutual support and the advancement of aviation. Amelia Earhart became the 99s’ first president. Learn about Amelia Earhart’s visit to Oregon, the 99s who hosted her, and those who joined the group from the 1930s on.

Join us for an interactive program that includes songs, parachute fun, bubbles, puppets, and stories for our youngest patrons. This program is designed with even the most active toddler in mind!

Baby Time

Tuesdays, February 7th, 14th and 21st and 28th at 11:00 AM

Moms, Dads, Grandmas and Caregivers join us for songs, rhymes, and special bonding time with your baby. Stay afterward to play and chat with other caregivers about all things baby!

Family Storytime

Tuesdays, February 7th, 14th and 21st and 28th at 6:30 PM

Wednesdays, February 1st, 8th, 15th and 22nd at 10:30 AM, and then again at 1:30 PM

Thursdays, February 2nd, 9th, 16th, and 23rd at 10:30 AM

Bring the whole family for crowd pleasing good time with books, stories, and songs. The program is intended for all ages.

Incredible Infants

Fridays, February 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th at 10:30 AM

A free 10-week series just for new moms and their beautiful brand new babies. moms and babies will meet together to enjoy snacks and social time as well as ask questions and gain information on various parenting topics. Please RSVP to the library as space is limited for these classes.

Play Group

Mondays, February 6th, 13th and 27th at 10:00 AM

Drop in anytime during the event and let the kiddos play with a variety of toys, as well as socialize with the under-6 crowd. For children ages birth to 6 with their grownups

Sábado de Cine (Spanish Movie Saturday)

Saturday, February 11th at 12:00 PM

Give your Spanish (or English) a workout and join us one Saturday a month for Sábado de Cine (Spanish Movie Saturday). Fun, animated family features will be shown in Spanish with English subtitles. Feel free to bring a lunch or snacks.

K-2 Book Adventures

Thursday, February 16th at 4:00 PM

Join us as we share some of our favorite classic stories, books, and authors through interactive storytelling, puppetry, and other fun activities. No sign-up is required. For children in Kindergarten through 2nd Grade.

Lego Night!

Friday, February 17th 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM in the Oak Room

It’s the ever-popular Lego Night for teens! Come and chow down on free snacks, watch a Lego movie and build whatever your heart desires. Prizes awarded on a yet-to-be-determined basis! Open to all students in 6-12th grades.
